Hradilová, Johana ; Vondrová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Shejbalová, Klára (referee)
Title: Videomanual for the Administration of the Nine-Hole Peg Test according to the Czech Extended Version of the Manual for the Nine Hole Peg Test (NHPT) Abstract: Fine motor skills are a complex motor function for humans, thanks to which a person can participate in social and working life. This important function can be impaired by various diseases, traumatic injuries or degeneration. As part of comprehensive rehabilitation, an occupational therapist is a specialist who provides effective treatment. Occupational therapist uses standardized tests to evaluate the development of fine motor skills during treatment. These tests focus on various aspects of fine motor skills such as: muscle strength, range of motion, dexterity, manipulation and grip strength. The Nine Hole Peg Test assesses all of these aspects and is a very sensitive tool for evaluating treatment. Proper administration is essential for standardized tests, which should be performed exactly as instructed. For the Nine Hole Peg Test, an expanded Czech version of the NHPT manual was published in 2021, which contains new rules on how to proceed and evaluate situations arising during testing that did not have a uniform published solution in previous publications. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to create a videomanual for the administration of...

Title: Advantages and Disadvantages of Using the New Czech Extented Version of the Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test Abstract: The Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT) is a pin test used by occupational therapists to evaluate fine motor skills. Newly to the PPT in 2021, a collective of authors from the Klinika rehabilitačního lékařství 1. lékařské fakulty Univerzity Karlovy a Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice v Praze (Clinic of rehabilitation medicine 1st Faculty of Medicine Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague) has created a Czech extension manual that includes new rules for evaluating situations that arise during PPT testing. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to determine the advantages and disadvantages of using the New Czech Extended Version Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test in occupational therapy in the Czech Republic. The partial goal was to create a Practice quiz to test knowledge of the New Czech Extended Version Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test. In order to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the test under study, I practically tried the test on eight probands and also conducted an online questionnaire survey. This survey was addressed to occupational therapists and occupational therapy students of the Czech Republic. Responses from 195 respondents were analyzed using MS Excel. The...

Čapková, Veronika ; Vondrová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Šťastná, Klára (referee)
Title: Mapping Problems of Occupational Therapists Using Selected Standardised Tests in the Czech Republic Abstract: Using standardized tests is needed because of Evidence-based practice. They include also Box and Block Test (BBT), Nine Hole Peg Test (NHPT) and Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT), which test gross and fine motor skills. All of these tests were made abroad and their manuals existed only in unofficial czech versions. The main aim of this thesis was to map the problems of occupational therapists using BBT, NHPT and PPT. The secondary aim was to describe the advantages and disadvantages of using voice recordings of instruction during the testing. The survey was prepared to achieve the main goal. The survey consisted of 40 questions, which were separated into several parts. The most important part contained the video recordings of specific situations coming from testing. The respondents had to answer, how they would evaluate these situations. The author of this thesis administrated these tests several times and used read instructions and voice recordings to instruct the patients Then she could describe and compare her own experiences from testing to achieve the secondary goal of this thesis. 121 people answered this survey, but 87 of them were relevant. In total13 respondents reacted to situations from...

Title: Inter-rater Reliability of the Purdue Pegboard Test in Adults after a Stroke Abstract: The Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT) is a standardized tool which evaluates fine motor skills, finger and hand dexterity. This test is used to assess and evaluate not only neurological patients. The official Czech translation of the manual has not been available in the Czech Republic yet. To unify the administration of PPT, a new Czech extended version of the manual for PPT: Model 32020A was created. It includes new evaluation rules, unification of scoring and interpretation of tested individuals' performance and also provides exact instructions for administration of recommended three trials of each subtest. The main aim of this study was to determine inter-rater reliability of the PPT administered according to new Czech extended manual version. Therefore, 31 Czech-speaking adult patients after a stroke were tested by PPT at the Rehabilitation Center Kladruby. The evaluation of these patients, based on the analysis of the video documentation obtained from their testing, was performed by two independent occupational therapists. Data from the results of both evaluators were analyzed using Spearman's correlation coefficient. The correlation coefficient ranged from 0,967 to 1,000 for all subtests which is considered...
Creating a Video Manual of Proper Administration of the Purdue Pegboard Test According to the Czech Extended Version of the Manual for the Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT): Model 32020A
Šáchová, Alžběta ; Rybářová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kuželková, Anna (referee)
Title: Creating a Video Manual of Proper Administration of the Purdue Pegboard Test According to the Czech Extended Version of the Manual for the Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT): Model 32020A Abstract: A common consequence of a stroke is a fine motor skills dysfunction. The widely used Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT) measures the dexterity of the fingers of each hand separately or both together. The tested subject should insert as many components as possible into the holes in the test board during five time-limited subtests exactly according to the instructions written in the manual. In the Czech Republic, various working versions of the translation of the manual have been used so far, containing verbal instructions necessary for the administration of the test. In October 2021, the Czech Extended Version Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT): Model 32020A was published. In addition, it contains new rules for solving and evaluating situations (e.g. falling of a peg on the ground, changing hands during making assemblies), which therapists have not yet dealt with uniformly. Audio recordings of verbal instructions are also available to facilitate PPT correct administration. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to create a videomanual of proper PPT administration according to the already mentioned new version of the...
Determination of fine motor skills in patients after traumatic brain injury with Purdue Pegboard
Kaňková, Hana ; Krivošíková, Mária (advisor) ; Rodová, Zuzana (referee)
of diploma thesis: Objective In the Czech republic there is no normative data for Purdue pegboard test in any reprezentative group of people. First goal of this diploma thesis is to determine basic normative data Purdue pegboard test in not representative sample of people with traumatic brain injury at the age of 22-40 years in chronic phase. Second goal is to determine clinical utility of Purdue pegboard test in this clinical population group of people. The Student t-test and ambiguity proportion was used to statistic analyse the hypothesis. As a graphic processing was choosen the linear equation with the image of the Gaussian curve. There are analysed 3 case studies about people with traumatic brain injury to accomplish second goal. There is no significant difference in Purdue pegboard test score in employed and unemployed people with traumatic brain injury, equally to women and men with traumatic brain injury. There is evidence, that age influence score of Purdue pegboard test in men with traumatic brain injury, but not in women with traumatic brain injury. There are presented basic norms of Purdue pegboard test in people with traumatic brain injury in standard and percentile scale in this thesis. Normative data in people with traumatic brain injury makes easier to work with this clinical...
